Akul Joven 750 ml
Discover Akul Joven 750ml, an artisanal mezcal that celebrates the rich traditions of Oaxaca while embracing sustainable production and modern craftsmanship. Produced in Tlacolula, Oaxaca, Akul is made exclusively from 100% mature Espadín agave, harvested only when the plants reach full maturity to maximize their natural sweetness and complexity.
Akul follows traditional production methods beginning with slow cooking the agave in a patented underground-style oven, extracting the juices with an electric tahona, naturally fermenting the mash in Sabino wood vats using native yeasts, and double distilling in copper stills. These carefully controlled steps preserve the authentic character of the agave while creating a smooth and approachable mezcal.
Bottled at 40% ABV (80 Proof), Akul Joven displays a crystal-clear appearance with aromas of roasted agave, herbs, citrus, and gentle smoke. The palate is rich and full-bodied with flavors of sweet cooked agave, light minerality, herbal notes, and balanced smokiness that reflects the traditional pit-cooking process. The finish is smooth, clean, and lightly smoky, making it equally enjoyable neat, on the rocks, or in premium mezcal cocktails such as a Mezcal Margarita or Oaxaca Old Fashioned.
