Erstwhile Mezcal Henequen Limited 750 ml

Erstwhile Henequén Mezcal 2018 Limited Edition is an exceptionally rare artisanal mezcal showcasing Henequén (Agave fourcroydes), an unusual agave species far better known historically for fiber production than for distillation.

This limited release comes from the personal collection of the late master mezcal producer Juan Hernández Méndez of Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. Crafted from cultivated Henequén agave, the batch yielded just 397 liters, approximately 500 bottles, making it one of Erstwhile Mezcal's most distinctive collector-oriented releases. Erstwhile Mezcal

The significance of the expression extends beyond its scarcity. Erstwhile identifies this bottling as the first mezcal produced from Henequén agave to become available in the United States, offering enthusiasts an opportunity to explore an agave variety rarely encountered in commercial mezcal. Erstwhile Mezcal

Bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof) in a 750ml presentation, this artisanal mezcal offers an expressive profile with floral and herbal characteristics accompanied by restrained smoke. Barbank
