Hampden Estate Single Jamaican Rum 1753 750 ml
Hampden Estate 1753 Pure Single Jamaican Rum is an authentic expression of one of Jamaica’s most historic and distinctive rum distilleries. Named in honor of 1753, the year Hampden Estate was established, this approachable yet characterful rum showcases the tropical fruit, aromatic intensity, and unmistakable Jamaican “funk” for which Hampden has become renowned.
Produced entirely at Hampden Estate in Trelawny, Jamaica, 1753 follows production traditions that have defined the distillery for generations. Pure spring water, long natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and distillation in double-retort copper pot stills contribute to its concentrated and highly aromatic character.
Following distillation, Hampden Estate 1753 is matured for three years in ex-bourbon barrels in Jamaica’s tropical climate. Tropical maturation accelerates interaction between spirit and oak, adding vanilla, spice, and barrel complexity while preserving the vibrant fruit character of the underlying rum.
The aroma is expressive and unmistakably Jamaican, combining ripe tropical fruit, banana, pineapple, sweet spice, and fresh vegetal notes. On the palate, vanilla and caramel complement coconut and tropical fruit, while citrus notes of orange, lemon, and grapefruit provide brightness and balance.
Hampden’s distinctive high-ester character adds another dimension of aromatic intensity. Rather than creating a conventional sweet, neutral rum, the distillery embraces the complex fermented-fruit character traditionally associated with Jamaican pot-still rum.
Bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof), Hampden Estate 1753 is intentionally positioned as an accessible introduction to Hampden’s distinctive style. It has enough intensity and complexity for sipping neat while remaining exceptionally versatile in cocktails.
Enjoy it neat, over a large ice cube, or use it to bring authentic Jamaican rum character to a Daiquiri, Mai Tai, Rum Old Fashioned, Planter’s Punch, or other tropical and spirit-forward cocktails.
Hampden Estate also bottles its rums without added sugar, coloring, or other additives, allowing the character of the fermented molasses, pot-still distillation, tropical maturation, and Jamaican terroir to remain at the center of the experience.
