Jade Nouvelle-Orléans Absinthe Superieure 750 ML
Jade Nouvelle-Orléans Absinthe Supérieure is a traditional French absinthe created by renowned distiller and absinthe historian T.A. “Ted” Breaux, inspired by the absinthes that became an important part of New Orleans drinking culture during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Produced at the historic Distillerie Combier in Saumur, France, Nouvelle-Orléans draws on the traditional methods and botanical character associated with the great absinthes of the Belle Époque. Jade absinthes are distilled using historic copper bain-marie alembics, with their color derived naturally from botanical infusion rather than chemical dyes. maisonabsinthe.com
Nouvelle-Orléans presents a complex, herbaceous profile centered around anise and fennel, accompanied by fresh green herbs, citrus and spice. When traditionally diluted with chilled water, the spirit develops its characteristic cloudy louche, opening its aromas and softening its formidable bottling strength.
Wine Enthusiast awarded Nouvelle-Orléans 95 points, noting aromas and flavors including fennel, rosemary, fresh basil, lime zest, white pepper and a long, gentle anise finish. Wine Enthusiast
Bottled at 68% ABV (136 proof), Jade Nouvelle-Orléans is equally at home prepared in the traditional absinthe ritual or used in classic cocktails such as the Sazerac and Absinthe Frappé, both closely associated with New Orleans cocktail history. maisonabsinthe.com
