Jameson was originally a Single Pot Still whiskey, the historic Irish style made from malted and unmalted barley. Although today’s Jameson is best known as a blended whiskey—a shift made in 1968—its roots and early mashbills were firmly in the Single Pot Still tradition. So yes—a Single Pot Still expression can absolutely be considered “Jameson” in the context of its heritage.
