La Venenosa Etnica Tutsi 750ml
Experience one of Mexico's rarest indigenous agave spirits with La Venenosa Étnica Tutsi 750ml. Part of La Venenosa's acclaimed Étnica Series, this extraordinary Raicilla preserves the ancestral distillation traditions of the Wixárika (Huichol) people of the Sierra Madre in northwest Jalisco. Once nearly lost for more than two decades, Tutsi has been revived through the dedication of master producer Don Rafael Carrillo Pizano and La Venenosa founder Esteban Morales.
Crafted from wild-foraged Maguey Masparillo, the agaves are roasted in an earthen pit with oak, hand-mashed using wooden mallets, naturally fermented with wild yeast in rock pits, and distilled only once using a traditional Wixárika tree-trunk still—a distillation method found nowhere else in the world. Most batches yield fewer than 80 liters, making every release exceptionally limited.
The nose offers aromas of BBQ brisket, stone fruit, smoke, and wild herbs. The palate reveals mint, cooked plum, earthy agave, mineral notes, and subtle sweetness, finishing long, fresh, and velvety with lingering herbal complexity. This rare spirit is best enjoyed neat to appreciate its cultural heritage and remarkable production method.
