Lock Stock & Barrel 25 Year Straight Rye Whiskey is an extraordinarily rare, ultra-aged Canadian rye created from some of the most prized barrels in the Lock Stock & Barrel inventory. Matured for a remarkable 25 years, this limited release represents the oldest expression produced by the brand and an exceptional showcase of how rye whiskey evolves through decades of barrel maturation.

Distilled in 1999, the whiskey comes from barrels at Alberta Distillers that were personally selected by the late Rob Cooper, founder of Cooper Spirits. These prized “honey barrels” were preserved for extended maturation before being selected for this historic 25-year release.

The whiskey begins with a 100% Alberta-grown rye grain mash bill. It is double distilled in copper pot stills before being matured in new charred American oak barrels, allowing the bold rye spirit to develop extraordinary depth while retaining the spicy structure characteristic of mature rye whiskey.

After a full quarter-century in oak, the whiskey develops a deeply layered profile of rich sweetness, mature oak, dried fruit and warming spice. Expect notes of treacle, toffee, cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg and dried cherry, complemented by the distinctive rye spice that remains present beneath the extended barrel influence.

The finish is exceptionally long, developing layers of seasoned oak, subtle smoke and dry rye spice. Bottling the whiskey non-chill filtered helps preserve its full texture, concentration and mature character.

Bottled at a substantial 55.5% ABV (111 proof), Lock Stock & Barrel 25 Year Rye delivers its mature character at high strength, making it best suited to slow sipping. Enjoy it neat in a whiskey tasting glass or add a few drops of water to reveal additional layers of fruit, spice and oak.

Rarity is central to this release. Production was restricted to only 250 bottles worldwide, making the 25 Year an exceptionally scarce addition to the Lock Stock & Barrel collection and a compelling bottle for collectors of mature rye whiskey.

The expression also received Double Gold at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, extending the remarkable competition record of Lock Stock & Barrel's aged rye portfolio.
