Aged for more than five years in new American oak barrels, the whiskey is finished in honey barrels before being enhanced with hand-cut, hand-charred Colorado aspen wood discs harvested from DU's Kennedy Mountain Campus. The result is a remarkably smooth bourbon with layered sweetness, gentle spice, and a signature mountain character found only in Locke + Co.'s Aspen-finished whiskeys.

The nose opens with aromas of warm honey, vanilla, toasted walnuts, caramelized sugar, Bing cherry, dried apricot, and baking spice.
