The Lost Distillery Benachie Scotch 750 ml
Discover a taste of Scotland's whisky history with The Lost Distillery Company Benachie Scotch Whisky 750ml. This unique blended malt revives the legendary character of the original Benachie Distillery, a Highland distillery that ceased production in 1913. Through extensive historical research and meticulous blending, The Lost Distillery Company recreates what Benachie's whisky might taste like today using carefully selected single malts from across Scotland.
Benachie is crafted entirely from 100% single malt Scotch whiskies, with no grain whisky included. The blend is matured in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks and Pedro Ximénez (PX) casks, producing a rich Highland-style whisky with exceptional depth while remaining true to the historical profile of the original distillery. It is bottled at 43% ABV, is non-chill filtered, and contains no added coloring.
The nose reveals aromas of dried fruit, raisins, baking spices, dark chocolate, and toasted oak. The palate offers layers of fruitcake, sweet spice, caramel, orange peel, roasted nuts, and rich sherry influence, leading to a long, warming finish with lingering oak, spice, and dried fruit sweetness. It is an excellent whisky for sipping neat or with a few drops of water to reveal its complexity.
