Woodinville Moscatel Finished Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a limited-release Washington bourbon that combines Woodinville’s signature straight bourbon with the rich, fruit-forward influence of Moscatel de Setúbal wine casks from Portugal.

Created as part of Woodinville Whiskey Co.’s celebrated Harvest Release series, this expression begins with the distillery’s flagship 5-year-old straight bourbon whiskey before undergoing an additional finishing period in 10-year-old Moscatel de Setúbal pipes.

Moscatel de Setúbal is a fortified wine produced on Portugal’s Setúbal Peninsula, prized for its rich fruit, floral sweetness and concentrated character. Finishing mature bourbon in these seasoned wine casks introduces an unusual layer of complexity while allowing Woodinville’s underlying bourbon character to remain present.

The resulting whiskey delivers enticing notes of dried apricot and orange peel, complemented by rich honey and toffee sweetness. As the whiskey develops, candied nuts and a subtle touch of fennel emerge, leading into a rich, smooth and lingering finish.

Bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof), Woodinville Moscatel Finished Bourbon retains substantial depth and intensity while showcasing the sweeter fruit and dessert-like qualities contributed by the Moscatel casks.

Woodinville takes a grain-to-glass approach to its whiskey production, mashing, distilling and barreling its whiskey before maturation in its private barrel houses in Central Washington. The distillery continues to use this approach across its current bourbon releases.
